A Contra Costa County Weekend

There is so much to do in the Contra Costa County community.  We’ve been keeping an eye out and we have a few suggestions for your afternoon if you’re new to the area, or just looking to rediscover your neighborhood!

The Eugene O’Neill National Historic Site is a great way to get some history and culture into what may otherwise be an average weekend.  At the peak of his writing career, the only American Playwright to ever win a Nobel Prize was living in Northern California; go to see where he wrote his great masterpieces!

The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a horticultural marvel.  Located at 1500 Bancroft Road, Walnut Creek, it’s a sprawling draught-tolerant wonderland.  On January 4th at 10:00 AM, attend a class on the garden’s history with experts who will teach you about the property itself and the plants which live there!
