Lafayette Real Estate: Median Sales Reach Highs

Due to a shortage in the housing industry, Lafayette, CA home sales have plummeted quite a bit. The cost of an average home has risen as well, according to the California Association of Realtors. However, they are hopeful that home sales will pick up very soon and consider this a temporary condition.

Lafayette home sales were down in September, but only by a little bit from the previous year. This is the first decline that Lafayette real estate has seen in over a year, so this is highly unusual. Part of this is attributed to less business days this September than in September of 2011, so the California Association of Realtors is not alarmed by the decrease in sales. They expect to see a positive change in this in the near future. Coastal region sales faired better than the number of houses that were sold inland, unsurprisingly.
